Piyush Goyal’s Thoughts On AI Implants
On Wednesday, the Union minister of commerce and industry Piyush Goyal urged students to embrace artificial intelligence (AI) instead of fearing it. He pointed out how this technology can transform vital sectors such as agriculture.
“AI cannot replace human intelligence, but it can be an excellent tool to provide value , particularly in agriculture bussiness” he said while inaugurating an AI lab at Galgotias University in Greater Noida and speaking at its graduation ceremony.
Goyal emphasized that it was important to implement ethical AI, especially in a nation where agriculture is still the backbone of the economy. “We need to imbibe technology in a responsible way” he explained.
Future Depends On AI, Says Piyush
The minister also added that India would be the third largest economy of the world in two to two and a half years and a developed country by 2047. He wishes to see the GDP of the country grow from $4 trillion to $30-35 trillion. He visualized that everyone would have minimum necessities such as electricity, water, house, and employment.
He gave examples such as the new Jewar airport as pointers towards the growth of the country. Goyal addressed new global trade deals. He stated free trade deals such as the one with the UK will provide jobs and business to Indians in sectors such as pharma, electronics, IT services, financial services, artificial intelligence, and quantum computing. He stated Indians employed in the UK will not need to pay a 20 to 22% social security charge for three years. He referred to it as a “game changing opportunity.”
Government’s Role On Supporting AI
The minister repeated that the government is committed to creating a good policy framework for AI and new technologies. From special AI training programs under Digital India to initiatives that enable AI in agriculture, education, and logistics, Goyal stated that the government is engaged in the process of creating a future-ready India.
“Instead of fearing the unknown, let us equip ourselves to shape it,” he concluded.
Piyush Goyal’s message is clear: India should welcome artificial intelligence, not run away from it. By welcoming new ideas, encouraging responsible usage, and investing in skills, India can not only learn to cope with AI but also lead the world in defining its future.
